Donald Trump Arrested and Posts Mugshot on X After Being Charged for Election Tampering
Trump posted his mugshot on X. He made history by doing this, as the first former president to pose for a mugshot. Daily Mail Online reports that Trump has been arrested for the fourth time in 2023. This time, he’s facing charges related to his alleged attempt to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia.
The arrest took place in Atlanta. Trump was fingerprinted and processed at the Fulton County jail. He shared his mugshot on X. This act marked his first post since being banned from social media following the January 6 Capitol attack.
The former president’s height and weight were recorded during the booking process. He was assigned a prisoner identification number. Later, the system released him after posting bail.
The arrest received a mixed response from the public. Trump’s supporters cheered his arrival at the jail. However, detractors voiced their disapproval. Trump’s arrest followed the apprehension of other Trump allies and individuals connected to his efforts. Among them was Rudy Giuliani, Trump’s former lawyer.
