Macron Partners with Cricket South Africa for 2027 World Cup

Cricket South Africa has announced a significant partnership with Italian sportswear company Macron, marking a key milestone in the run-up to the 2027 Cricket World Cup in South Africa. The agreement, revealed on 13 February, will see Macron become the official supplier of all technical sportswear for South Africa’s national cricket teams over the next five years.
A Major Spotlight for Macron
The partnership is particularly strategic for Macron, as it will coincide with the Cricket World Cup, scheduled to take place in South Africa in 2027. This will provide the company with invaluable exposure during one of cricket’s most prestigious events. Beyond the World Cup, Macron will also be featured prominently across South Africa’s three major cricket competitions: the One-Day Cup, the Four-Day Series, and the T20 Challenge.
Legal Advisory and Partnership Insights
Macron’s legal considerations for the agreement were guided by Swansea-based JCP Solicitors. The firm, which has previously supported Macron in securing deals with top-tier sports organizations like the Welsh Rugby Union, Crystal Palace, and World Rugby, played a pivotal role in advising on the partnership’s legal framework. Andrew Meech, director and joint head of commercial litigation at JCP Solicitors, represented Macron throughout the process.
Commitment to Performance and Identity
Macron CEO Gianluca Pavanello expressed the company’s enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating: “We are committed to providing high-performance garments that effectively represent the history, symbols, and identity of Cricket South Africa.”
Long-term Business Relationship
Andrew Meech highlighted the long-term nature of the partnership, noting that JCP Solicitors’ extensive experience working with Macron over multiple deals has provided a deep understanding of the company’s goals. “This is a major deal for Macron,” Meech said, emphasizing the importance of the agreement in helping Macron achieve its branding and business objectives.
