Logan Paul Expresses Interest in UFC 300 After Contacting Dana White

WWE star Logan Paul has recently revealed his desire to compete in UFC 300, the iconic pay-per-view event set to take place at the Sphere in Las Vegas. With a background in high school and college wrestling, Paul made an attempt to join the UFC 300 lineup by reaching out to UFC CEO Dana White last April. However, his text went unanswered.
On his Impulsive podcast, Paul shared the details of his communication with White, saying, “I told Dana for UFC 300, I texted him, ‘Hey man, consider me available to fight on the undercard in the Sphere.’ Basically, completely ignored me, which I think spoke volumes.”
Despite the lack of response, Paul remains confident in his abilities, believing that with the right opportunity and financial backing, he could thrive in the octagon. In 2020, Paul sparred with former UFC title contender Paulo Costa at the UFC Performance Institute, showcasing his grappling skills. His brother, Jake, has had a more strained relationship with White compared to Logan.
The notion of WWE stars transitioning to the UFC isn’t new. CM Punk, a former WWE wrestler, made his MMA debut at UFC 203 in 2016, though he was quickly submitted by Mickey Gall. Punk’s UFC journey continued with a loss to Mike Jackson at UFC 225 in 2018, a result later changed to a no contest after Jackson tested positive for marijuana.
Paul, however, is confident that his wrestling background would make him more successful in the UFC than Punk. He also speculates that Punk’s disappointing performances may have influenced White’s reluctance to bring in more WWE talent.
Reflecting on his current career, Paul shared with his podcast audience, “I think I found a path. I’m a WWE Superstar now, and it’s one of the only things I’ve done in my life where I feel so at home like, ‘Oh you were kind of meant to do this thing.’” For now, Paul is focused on his WWE career, though he remains interested in potentially testing himself inside the UFC octagon in the future.
