Victorious Battle: Kempton Park Cricket Club Triumphs Over Rivals

The Kempton Park Cricket Club (KPCC) achieved notable victories in recent games across various divisions.

The Kempton first team demonstrated their prowess in the senior division clash against Duduza. Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Kempton posted a formidable 245/4, with Guilaums van Niekerk top-scoring at 74 not out. Bowler Kriston du Plessis claimed the day’s honors with 1/6 in three overs. The KPCC secured a convincing win by 181 runs.

The ladies’ match against Geluksdal saw KPCC batting first, reaching 266. Captain Jolene Smit played a stellar innings with an unbeaten 116. Jordan Holtzhausen stood out with the ball, taking 3/7 in three overs. KPCC Ladies emerged victorious, winning the match by 158 runs.

The KPCC second side faced Springs away, scoring 182. Don McKay narrowly missed his 50 by one run, while Ig Spies excelled as the best bowler with 3/19 in three overs, leading to a 41-run win.

In the junior leagues, Kempton’s U14 Impala Blue team secured a significant win against Thembisa, scoring 193/6 and winning by 107 runs. Brendan Smit’s contribution of 47 runs anduuConnor Moat’s five-wicket haul were instrumental in the victory.

The Chairman’s League encounter with Thakoza witnessed KPCC scoring a smashing 279/8. Zeeshan Butt played a pivotal role, scoring 85 runs and taking six wickets, leading to a resounding win by 247 runs.

In the Executives League, Kempton faced Bedfordview, scoring 263 all out. Captain Hassan Ali’s top score of 79 and Fahad Raza’s 5/40 secured a 128-run victory.

The junior league featured Kempton’s U10 Impala playing against Old Bens. Dian Richter’s unbeaten 43 led Kempton to 159/3, securing a win by 51 runs.

Kempton displayed competitive matches and impressive performances in various age groups, including U12 Kingham 1, U12 Impala Yellow, and U14 Kingham. Man-of-the-match recognitions and outstanding batting and bowling contributions were highlighted across these diverse fixtures.

The U12 Sibali side faced Duduza and experienced a seven-wicket loss, with Christiaan Ryan scoring 15 runs and Arno Potgieter taking one wicket for the loss of three runs.
