Jorge Martin Out of Sundays MotoGP start , After Second Hand Surgery in a Month

Reigning MotoGP champion Jorge Martin will be sidelined for an indefinite period following hand surgery for the second time in less than a month.
The 27-year-old Spaniard, who previously fractured his right hand earlier this month, sustained additional fractures to his left hand in a training crash, forcing him to miss Sunday’s season opener in Thailand.

Martin underwent surgery in Barcelona on Tuesday, with his Aprilia team confirming that the procedure was successful. However, they stated that his recovery will be assessed in the coming days.
In Martin’s absence, Italy’s Lorenzo Savadori will step in to replace him for Sunday’s race. The next round of the MotoGP season is scheduled for 16 March in Argentina.
This marks a second injury setback in quick succession for Martin, who made history by claiming his first MotoGP world title last year. Earlier this month, he broke his right hand during pre-season testing in Malaysia, which also required surgery.
