Comrades Marathon 2025: Roadshow Dates, Venues, and Highlights
The Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) is set to launch its annual roadshow at the Run Zone Athletics Clubhouse in Johannesburg on Thursday, 6 February 2025, at 19:00. The roadshow aims to inspire and prepare the 24,000 participants registered for the 98th Comrades Marathon, scheduled for Sunday, 8 June 2025.
What the Roadshow Offers
The roadshow will visit four major locations, hosted by local running clubs in Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, and the Western Cape. These sessions provide runners with expert guidance on:
- Training consistency and endurance building.
- Injury prevention and recognizing signs of fatigue.
- Effective nutrition strategies for optimal performance and recovery.
- Motivational talks to keep runners inspired.
Comrades Coach Lindsey Parry encourages all participants to attend:
“These roadshows are designed to assist runners at every level. We focus on building a strong base, improving performance, and tackling nutrition and recovery to ensure runners are well-prepared for race day.”

The 98th edition of the Comrades Marathon, also known as the 49th Down Run, will start at Pietermaritzburg City Hall at 5:30 AM and end at Durban’s People’s Park after a grueling 12 hours. Runners are encouraged to use the roadshows to refine their strategies for this iconic event.
