Alexcia Andrade to Represent SA at World Karate Championships

South Crest’s Alexcia Andrade has been selected to represent South Africa at the World Karate Championships in Scotland.

Alexcia, an aspiring 12-year-old with a strong passion for karate, began her journey in 2019 under the guidance of her senseis Laurent Gaston Bellegarde and Nicholas Gaston Bellegarde at the Cobras Karate Club.

Alexcia has achieved remarkable success in her division through hard work and dedication, currently holding the title of SA champ. She secured double gold at the previous SAs.

In November 2022, she was chosen to be part of the development team representing South Africa in Dundee, Scotland.

Alexcia’s parents couldn’t be prouder of her and her accomplishments. Her mother, Kerry, described her as a focused child who can achieve anything she sets her mind to.

“We wish her all the best. She is proud to have been chosen and cannot wait to hold the South African flag as she embarks on this journey alongside karateka participants from around the world. Her advice to her peers is to never give up. Her motto is, ‘Don’t chase your dreams, catch them,'” Kerry said.

Alexcia’s selection for the World Karate Championships is a testament to her talent and dedication. Her participation in this prestigious event represents a significant milestone in her karate journey.
