Upon their arrival at the scene, responding officers were guided to the kitchen area, where they encountered a chilling sight—an individual lying lifeless amidst a pool of blood. The neighbour, awakened by the victim’s desperate cries for assistance, had promptly alerted the authorities to the unfolding tragedy.
According to the neighbour, he rushed to the victim’s aid and immediately dialled for an ambulance. Tragically, the victim was pronounced dead on the scene despite these efforts. Observations made by the neighbour suggested severe upper-body injuries on the victim, indicative of a violent and lethal altercation.
Preliminary investigations into the incident unveiled a troubling sequence of events. The suspect, identified as the deceased’s girlfriend, had recently arrived from Soweto the preceding day. Shortly after her arrival, a heated argument erupted between the couple, ultimately escalating into a deadly confrontation.
Reports indicate that the deceased, who was a taxi owner, retrieved a table knife from a kitchen drawer during the altercation and even instructed his 10-year-old child to retrieve his firearm from a safe. However, the suspect allegedly wrestled control of the knife and subsequently inflicted the fatal wounds.
In a swift response, authorities apprehended the suspect, taking her into custody at the Tembisa Police Station. She is expected to face charges of murder and is scheduled to appear before the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court as soon as this harrowing incident unravels.
