Despite challenges, such as resource shortages and dependency on the police, the forum remains dedicated to its mission.

Ward councillor Malcolm de Klerk praises the forum’s effectiveness in reducing crime and actively participates in their meetings and operations.

The Lakes Security Forum aims to expand its LPR network and implement an off-the-grid communication system covering most Pretoria East. They plan to increase public involvement in community projects and organisations, emphasising their commitment to securing the area.

In the future, smart technologies like LPR cameras, AI for surveillance, and drones for incident response are potential strategies to enhance security in the ward further.
