In a powerful symbolic gesture, Ekurhuleni Mayor Sivuyile Ngodwana will lead a 5km walk/run against GBV on November 25, marking the city’s participation in the global observance of the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children campaign. The mayor extends a heartfelt invitation to all members of society, urging them to actively engage in the initiative as a tangible demonstration of their commitment to combating the pervasive abuse faced by women and children.

Scheduled to commence at 08:30 at the OR Tambo Government Precinct in Germiston, the 5km and 10km fun walk/run provides a platform for residents to unite against gender-based violence (GBV). Registration for the event is open between 07:00 and 08:00 on the day of the walk. Mayor Ngodwana emphasizes the importance of collective action, encouraging participants to bring their families and friends to contribute to this crucial cause. Notably, registration is free, and interested individuals can also sign up in advance at this link.
