Gauteng and Limpopo Engage in High-Speed Train Project Discussions

The two provinces recently convened a strategic meeting at the Euphoria Golf Estate & Hydro in Mookgophong, Waterberg, on October 9. The meeting was led by Limpopo Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba and Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi, aiming to advance plans for the high-speed rail network.

During the meeting, several key agreements were reached, including the initiation of the process for appointing a Joint Project Manager, outlining a budget for the pre-feasibility study, and engaging in joint consultations with various ministries to secure support for the project. A Political Oversight Committee will also be established to ensure effective governance and oversight.

Premier Lesufi emphasized that the collaboration on the high-speed train project is driven by a joint vision to harness economic growth across both provinces.
