Tshwane is currently addressing and managing the issue of a backlog in refuse collection
According to spokesperson Selby Bokaba, Tshwane is currently facing a delay in refuse collection, attributed to the national shutdown led by the EFF on Monday. Due to safety concerns, the service providers could not offer their services as reported by Jacarandafm.
Bokaba urges residents to put their bins outside their homes for collection, except those living in regions 5 and 7, unaffected.
Residents in other affected regions are advised to place their bins outside before 7 am until Saturday, 26 March 2023, when they will be collected by waste trucks.
The city is aware of the situation and is working hard to resolve the issue.
