As a member of the Vodacom Journalist of the Year (VJOY) judging panel since 2019, he approached the challenging task of reviewing over 1,300 entries with precision. Mapi Mhlangu, a VJOY convener, expressed gratitude to Craig’s family for their support, highlighting that his passion for storytelling and honouring journalists’ work will endure as part of his lasting legacy.

Makhadi underlined Craig’s unique access to camps and A-listers in the U.S., showcasing his journalistic prowess.
Craig’s impact reached beyond journalism, as evidenced by 4Racing, a horse racing operator, expressing deep sorrow over his death. Describing him as a true maestro in communication, 4Racing CEO Fundi Sithebe emphasized Craig’s dedication, creativity, and unwavering commitment to their vision.
