Parkmore community market celebrates Christmas in July

Christmas came to the Parkmore community early this year, when the Sandton Sports Club and Milk Bar hosted a Christmas in July-themed community market on July 28.

Arranged by Treasured Times Markets, brand representative Ginny Osborne celebrated how the occasion was more than just a good excuse for everyone to be together, be festive, have fun, and shop for good products.

“The concept is to bring decoration and festive fun into the middle of the year. People need it,” Osborne explained. “It’s an option for people who apply their minds to buy their Christmas presents now, and then they don’t have to spend the money or time at the end of the year.”

Osborne also elaborated on what she looks out for in marketers towards building the community market.

“I try to build the market every time with new vendors so that our regular shoppers don’t come to expect always finding the same vendors. I’m constantly looking for variations of products as to avoid duplicating; towards giving everybody the best benefit,” Osborne said. “How we go about finding vendors is through word-of-mouth.

“They contact me, or I contact them if I find them, to see if there can be a working relationship possible,” Osborne concluded. “It very often works out in terms of timing that marketeers can come join us, and try our market out. They very often come back for another one, which is ideal.”

Too bad Santa Claus rests in July. He’ll be sad to have missed this quality event.
