Breaking News: Major Shutdown Planned for Midrand – Find Out Which Routes Will be Blocked!

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in Gauteng have shared their plans to stage a National Shutdown on 20 March, targeting strategic routes in Midrand and Sandton and in an interview with The South African, Philip Makwala, the EFF’s deputy chairperson in Gauteng, expressed confidence in the region’s readiness for the event.

“We are very READY for 20 March and there is nothing that is going to stop us on the day,” he said.

Makwala stated that the EFF intends to ensure that President Cyril Ramaphosa resigns on the day of the shutdown, claiming that white supremacy is lobbying its right-wing forces to prevent it. As a result, Midrand offramps and other routes, such as Grayston Drive, Marlboro, Jan Smut Avenue, Empire Road, and Joe Slovo, will be closed off.

“We are going to make sure that our people get electricity and we will end load shedding,” Makwala added. “Our structures in Gauteng are ready, and we are going to close South Africa.”
