Are you a bird lover? Is Bryanston your go-to place for bird watching in their natural habitat? Make sure to save the date for October 6, when the Bryanston Market will host the third annual Rescue Expo, organized by The Rescue Collective.

This event will feature over 50 animal rescue and rehabilitation organizations. It will provide a unique opportunity to get a glimpse behind the scenes and witness the remarkable dedication and compassion that drive these organizations. Attendees will also have the chance to meet many of the rescued animals.

The Rescue Expo coincides with World Animal Week, a global initiative that aims to highlight the work of nonprofit organizations dedicated to enhancing the lives of animals. This movement encompasses all animals that share our world, from dogs and cats to donkeys, parrots, and hamsters, as well as garden birds, bats, and other wildlife found in urban environments.

For animal enthusiasts looking to expand their furry family, there will be dogs available for adoption at the expo. Additionally, pet owners can have their pets microchipped by the skilled Animal Allies vet present at the event, offering chipping services for only R120.

No event is complete without a delectable selection of food for humans. From burgers and pizza to spring rolls and samosas, ice cream, and even a chocolate fountain with strawberries for the little ones.

Entrance fee is R100 for four people or R30 per person, with children under 10 entering for free. Consider bringing a food donation for a charity of your choice as a way to give back to the community while enjoying a day filled with furry, feathered, and fluffy companions.
