Support Benoni SPCA in Achieving Its Cheer Fund Goal

‘Tis the season to spread joy to our furry friends at Benoni SPCA, and you can make a difference by supporting the annual Christmas Cheer Fund. Residents and businesses in Benoni are encouraged to join this festive initiative, which aims to raise essential funds for the holiday season.

The fund, launched on October 1, is already in full swing, with over R9,596 raised so far. As Christmas approaches, the SPCA anticipates an influx of surrendered, stray, and abandoned animals in need of care.

Last year’s Cheer Fund successfully raised an impressive R36,740, and this year, the goal is to double that amount to fulfil society’s wishes. The wish list includes:

  • Purchasing a new washing line.
  • Upgrading goat facilities.
  • Acquiring cat domes for cosy hideaways.
  • Obtaining essential equipment like control poles and cat tongs to assist with animal rescue efforts.

To contribute, visit or contact Benoni SPCA, where you can donate and have your name and message recorded in the cheer fund book. Donations can also be deposited into the Benoni SPCA bank account (FNB 54475778429, branch code 252605), with the reference “cheerfund” and your name.

Notable early contributors include Abishet (R1005), Louis (R250), Marco (R500), and many more generous individuals. Keep an eye on the City Times to see your name featured on online platforms as a supporter of this meaningful cause.

The fund will continue until the end of December, offering ample time for the community to come together and make a positive impact on the lives of animals in need. For additional information, contact Benoni SPCA at 011 894 2814. Let’s make this festive season a time of giving and compassion for our beloved furry companions.
