20 Sundowner roads are a mess

Around 20 roads in Ward 134, particularly in Sundowner, are dire due to water rising from beneath the surface and damaging the tar. Ward councillor Devon Steenkamp revealed that the Joburg Roads Agency often waits until the water flow subsides, mainly during winter, before working on these roads as reported by the Randburg Sun.

Taurus Road, Apiesdoring, and Diamond streets are among the worst-affected areas, with constant water flow causing massive potholes.

Despite residents reporting the issue, there seems to be a delay in addressing the problem, as evident in the sinkhole forming in Sharonlea.

Joburg Roads Agency spokesperson Kelebogile Mafa has yet to respond to questions sent on March 17.
