Strawberry Pot hosts annual Spring Festival
Plant lovers from all over gathered at Strawberry Pot this past weekend as they hosted their annual Spring Festival in collaboration with Plaasnooi Leather and Coffee Hub.
The day ushered in the new season in true spring fashion showcasing every different type of plant that a horticulturist could wish for.
Doné Basson, owner of Plaasnooi says that the Spring Festival is important for community building and also allows for local artists and smaller businesses to showcase their works as well.
“It’s a great opportunity for the local artists that feature at Plaasnooi, it allows them to showcase their work while celebrating Strawberry Pot’s birthday,” says Basson.
Founded in 2009, Strawberry Pot turned 15 and the festival did not only cater to plant lovers as various vendors displayed their arts and crafts.
Manager of Strawberry Pot, Zunika Marx says they hope to continue the festival annually in future.
“Me and Doné have worked together to get vendors to help us out with supplies so we can teach people how to use different featured plants as well as our products. With Doné getting vendors from all sides, even though it’s our second one, it’s the biggest we’ve hosted so far,” Marx says.
Strawberry Pot is home to the largest collection of carnivorous plants on the continent, they cater for all types of plants exotic and indigenous.
