South Africa Set to Take on Bangladesh at Willowmoore Park
In the upcoming cricket series, the Momentum Proteas are set to face Bangladesh in two international matches at Willowmoore Park next month. The T20 International (T20I) clash is scheduled for December 3, followed by the third One Day International (ODI) on December 23.

The Proteas enter the series with confidence, having recently secured a 2-1 victory against New Zealand in their last ODI series, while the T20I series concluded in a 1-1 draw. Hilton Moreeng’s team, which previously triumphed over Bangladesh in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in February, aims to maintain their dominance.
Notably, South Africa has never lost to Bangladesh in any international series since their initial encounter in 2012, where they secured a 2-1 win in both the T20I and ODI series. This historical success serves as a significant motivation for Captain Laura Wolvaardt and her team.
In T20 internationals, they have faced each other 10 times, with South Africa emerging victorious on nine occasions. Bangladesh has secured a single win in this format. In the ODIs, the Proteas and Bangladesh have met 18 times, with South Africa emerging victorious in 16 matches and experiencing only two defeats.
Adding to the motivation is Bangladesh’s historical struggle in South Africa, where they have lost all their internationals during their three visits to the country. Apart from the 2012 series, they suffered a 3-0 defeat in both the T20I and ODIs in the 2016/17 season. In their last visit in 2018, South Africa dominated with a 5-0 victory in ODIs and a 3-0 win in T20Is.
The T20 match at Willowmoore Park is set to commence at 14:00, with the ODI encounter starting at 10:00. The Proteas aim to extend their winning streak and maintain their stronghold over Bangladesh in the upcoming series.
