A shack fire in Denver killed one individual. A 30-year-old man died because he inhaled smoke. According to TimesLIVE, the incident occurred earlier today.

City of Johannesburg emergency management services firefighters swiftly responded to the distressing scene. They arrived around 2 a.m. and found multiple shacks engulfed in flames.

Robert Mulaudzi, the emergency management services spokesperson, said the firefighters carried out a search and rescue mission amidst the blaze. Their search revealed the victim. They tried to resuscitate him. But they had to pronounce him dead.

The fire destroyed approximately 10 shacks and a motor vehicle. The circumstances that led to the fire are under investigation, with authorities working diligently to determine its cause.

In an unrelated incident, another shack fire wreaked havoc in Kya Sands the previous day, obliterating about 30 shacks and displacing approximately 60 individuals. There were no injuries.

Authorities have urged residents to exercise extreme caution when utilising heating devices that could pose a fire risk. They stress the importance of never leaving such devices unattended to prevent such tragic incidents.
