Seven Nigerian nationals were arrested

Seven Nigerian nationals were arrested in Johannesburg. They had kidnapped a 48-year-old Nigerian businessman. However, the SA Police Service Anti-Kidnapping Task Team rescued him within 24 hours. IOL reports that the team found the suspects at a lodge in Randburg and seized six of their vehicles. The police also recovered money stolen from the victim’s bank account.

Ongoing Anti-Kidnapping Efforts:

This arrest is part of the team’s ongoing efforts. They arrested 300 suspects in the last two years for kidnapping-related crimes.

Separate Kidnapping Case:

In another case, businessman Mahesh Sing from Witbank was abducted after receiving a call from someone claiming to be a technician. The two armed assailants forced Sing into a vehicle and drove towards Kriel. Along the way, they dropped Sing’s cellphone, which has been recovered. Police are investigating both incidents.
