Journalist Jeremy Gordin was tragically killed during a house robbery last month, and the police have since arrested seven suspects in connection with his murder.Police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi has stated that the arrests were carried out by detectives from Gauteng Province, Johannesburg East Trio team, and Parkview, in collaboration with private security companies, following the operationalization of intelligence information as reported by the SABC News.

The first suspect was apprehended on April 12, 2023, in Auckland Park, while driving the deceased’s stolen vehicle. Further investigations led to the arrest of six additional suspects on the same day.

It is worth noting that Jeremy Gordin was a well-known journalist previously serving as the editor of The Star and Sunday Independent newspapers.

He also wrote a biography of former South African President Jacob Zuma.

The fact that the suspects are all foreign nationals is also noteworthy and could raise questions about their motives for committing the crime.

The charges they will face include murder, house robbery, possession of the suspected stolen property, and possessing an unlicensed firearm.
