Senior Forensic Investigation Officials Suspended by Johannesburg City Council

Senior officials of the City of Johannesburg’s group forensic investigation services (GFIS) department have been placed on precautionary suspension by the city pending an investigation into allegations of misconduct, as reported by Herald Live.

According to the city’s statement, the officials have been accused of obstructing the council’s oversight of laws and regulations.

Furthermore, some of the allegations have caused financial losses while the city has been attempting to reduce unauthorised, irregular, fruitless, and wasteful expenses.

The officials’ suspension is meant to ensure that due process is followed without interference.
