Blaming the Reserve Bank for the economy’s recession is incorrect since it maintains low inflation. Economist Roodt believes the recession is due to the government’s macroeconomic policies.

The recent 50 basis point repo rate hike will negatively impact indebted South Africans and economic growth as reported by Jacarandafm.

The Reserve Bank is increasing interest rates to fight inflationary pressures.
