Rand water puts lengthy outage plan on hold, offering reprieve for Joburg residents
Residents of Johannesburg can breathe a sigh of relief as Rand Water postponed planned maintenance that would have led to a two-day water outage. According to News24, the maintenance, initially to take place from the 20th to 22nd of June, involved crucial infrastructure testing and upgrades at Rand Water’s Eikenhof pump station, including installing isolation valves and connecting new pipelines.

The postponement comes after Johannesburg Water warned customers about potential low water pressure or no water during maintenance. However, there has yet to be an announcement for the new date for the maintenance, leaving residents to await further updates from Rand Water.
