Ramaphosa: Freedom needs social progress too
President Cyril Ramaphosa acknowledged the fear of violence in communities during his Freedom Day speech and promised to improve the police and justice system as reported by Alberton Record.
He stated that true freedom cannot exist while violence against women and children continues.

The president also urged society to unite against violence and emphasized building partnerships between the police and communities.
He stated that South Africa could not build a better future without working together and taking counsel from both the elders and the young. Freedom Day honors those who fought for freedom and celebrates the end of apartheid.
