Rally driver Craig Breen dies in testing crash

A 33-year-old Irish rally driver, Craig Breen was killed during a pre-event test for the upcoming Croatia Rally on Thursday. Breen was driving his Hyundai when he spun off the course and hit a wooden pole, causing the fatal accident. Breen’s co-driver, James Fulton, escaped unharmed as reported by News 24.

Breen was a veteran of 81 World Rally Championship (WRC) races, with six second-place finishes and three third-place finishes but had never won a rally.

His team, Hyundai Motorsport, expressed their condolences and praised Breen as a world-class driver and person.

The cause of the accident is still unknown.
