Radley Students Engage in Valuable Time at SPCA Randburg
As part of their community service project for the term, students from Radley Private School dedicated their time to the Randburg SPCA. During their visit, the learners generously donated essential items such as cat and dog pellets, canned food, water, food bowls, dog kennels, and blankets to support the organisation’s mission.

Principal Charne De Gouveia emphasised the significance of this community project, highlighting its role in raising awareness among the children about the Randburg SPCA’s work. She explained that the project aimed to educate students on the importance of caring for stray animals and ensuring they find suitable and loving homes.
De Gouveia stressed the value of students’ involvement in community projects, which not only contribute to their learning but also expose them to the needs of their community. She noted that while many believe the SPCA is government-funded, it relies solely on donations.
During their visit, the learners had the opportunity to explore the SPCA’s facilities and were guided by an inspector who provided insights into the care provided to animals. The students found the experience both enjoyable and informative, particularly as they discovered that the SPCA extends its support to a wide range of animals, including farm and wild animals, beyond just cats and dogs.
