Ekurhuleni Metro Police Vigilant in Monitoring Tembisa Amid Protest Calls
Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) is on high alert for potential protests in Tembisa as a poster circulating on social media over the weekend has called for mass protest action. EWN reports that the poster explicitly highlights demands for fair and consistent billing, the cancellation of municipal debt for residents, and better police visibility in the area.

In response to these calls, EMPD Chief Superintendent Kelebogile Thepa confirmed that their members have been deployed to monitor the situation closely. The EMPD urges the Tembisa community to protest peacefully and avoid damaging essential infrastructure. It also emphasised that individuals involved in unlawful activities will face legal consequences.
