Police are urging anyone with information to contact the Crime Stop line or submit anonymous tips via the My SAPS App, as reported by IOL. Anti-crime activist Yusuf Abramjee highlighted on social media that the incident occurred inside the Absa bank along Van der Hoff Road in Hercules, involving a substantial sum of cash intended for deposit by a businessman. This incident echoes a similar occurrence in Groblersdal, Limpopo, earlier in the year, where individuals were robbed while queuing to deposit money at a bank, losing R150,000 in the process. The police commissioner emphasised the importance of avoiding possession of large sums of cash to mitigate the risk of armed robberies.
