Ramaphosa’s Visit to Families Affected by January 8 Bus Crash
Cyril Ramaphosa will visit the families of bus crash victims from Limpopo today. On Monday, the ANC confirmed his visit in a statement.
As per Jacaranda FM, ANC members were on a bus from the Molemole sub-region on Saturday. They were going to the party’s 112th-anniversary celebration at Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga. The accident took place on the R71 at the Makgoebaskloof outside Tzaneen.
The provincial Department of Transport and Community reported that three buses were travelling in succession when the third bus hit the second one from behind, causing it to overturn into a gorge.
Five people lost their lives. Several others sustained injuries and received medical attention at various provincial hospitals. Ramaphosa will visit the injured survivors at different hospitals.
