Power restored after Tshwane pylon collapse

Some areas in Tshwane have had power restored after pylons collapsed, but many areas remain without power. The Electricity Minister visited the site and suggested that the damaged infrastructure could be due to tampering as reported by IOL.

Mamelodi and some surrounding areas have restored power, while other areas fed from the Hinterland substation remain without power due to severe vandalism and stolen cables.

The City of Tshwane has urged residents to report suspicious activities around substations to prevent power outages caused by vandalism and theft.
