Power cuts escalated to stage 6 by Eskom
Eskom has announced that stage 5 load shedding will be implemented from 5 am to 4 pm on Thursday morning and will continue in a rotational pattern with stage 6 until further notice. According to spokesperson Daphne Mokwena, two-generation units were returned to service at Kriel Power Station in the past 24 hours as reported by Jacarandafm.
Still, repairs were needed for a generating unit at Duvha Power Station.
Capacity constraints were also caused by delays in returning units to service at several other power stations, as well as an increase in demand after the long weekend and the re-opening of schools.
