Get Ready for Petrol Price Hikes and Diesel Drops: Here’s What to Expect in April
Petrol prices will increase again next month, while diesel prices will drop slightly.
As reported by SowetanLIVE, mid-month data from the Central Energy Fund (CEF) shows that on April 5, 93 and 95 unleaded petrol prices will increase by 35c/l. On the other hand, the high-sulphur 0.05% diesel price will decrease by 9c/l, and the low-sulphur 0.005% diesel should drop by 11c/l. The cost of illuminating paraffin will also decrease by 53c.
The CEF noted that this data is provisional and subject to change before the end of the month, as the current oil price and rand-dollar exchange rate influence the data.
The year began with a drop in petrol and diesel prices of over R2/l in January. But motorists have seen an increase in fuel prices for February and March.
In Gauteng, the following prices per litre will be applied:
- 95 ULP: R22.95
- 93 ULP: R22.65
- Diesel 500ppm: R21.62
- Diesel 50ppm: R21.72
