Over 200 Complaints Reported Due to Power Outage in the Randburg Area
Joburg City Power has issued an apology to thousands of residents in the Randburg area after experiencing power outages over the past 24 hours.
According to IOL, suburbs such as Randpark Ridge, Bromhof, Ferndale, Fountainebeau, Randpark, Bromhof, Windsor, Boskruin and Northriding were among the areas affected by the more than 286 reported complaints of power outages in the Randburg area, as confirmed by City Power on Twitter.
The outages in the Randburg area were partially due to the ongoing Stage 6 load shedding, which has caused Johannesburg residents to endure load shedding periods of over 11.5 hours per day.
On Tuesday, City Power reported an increased volume of calls in the Randburg area, with residents reporting power not being restored following load shedding.
City Power explained that several areas had been affected, including Randpark, Bromhof, Windsor, and Boskruin. In one instance, a transformer tripped at the Beyers sub-station, causing a power outage in Boskruin. However, City Power has dispatched operators to investigate and restore power to the affected areas. The company urged residents to log isolated incidents and any other electricity-related queries on the citypower.mobi website.
City Power has acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the power outages, particularly during the inclement weather. The company has also asked for patience and understanding as they work to resolve the backlogs.
