Parts of Rosslyn and neighboring areas in the north of Pretoria will undergo water supply interruptions on Thursday due to planned maintenance work on the control valves. Tshwane’s Water and Sanitation Department will conduct this maintenance on the control valves situated at the intersection of Doreen Avenue and Rosslyn Road in Region 1, as stated by metro spokesperson Lindela Mashigo.

This essential maintenance is projected to last up to 10 hours, from 08:00 to 17:00.

The following areas will be impacted:

Tshwane apologizes for any inconvenience that may arise from the scheduled upgrade work, as expressed by Mashigo.

Mashigo encourages residents to incorporate the following water-conservation measures into their daily routines:

  • Do not water or irrigate your garden with hosepipes or sprinkler systems between 06:00 and 18:00.
  • Avoid washing your vehicle with a hosepipe.
  • Refrain from refilling your swimming pool.
  • Install a low-flow shower head and tap aerators where feasible.
  • Utilize a dual-flush toilet cistern.
  • Use a broom instead of a hosepipe for cleaning driveways or patios.
  • Collect rainwater for reuse in gardening or car washing.
  • Cover the swimming pool to minimize water evaporation.
  • Opt for a short shower over a bath.
  • Turn off the tap while brushing teeth or shaving.
  • Regularly check for leaks in toilets and taps around the house.

Mashigo advises residents to report water leaks, burst pipes, and any water wastage to the metro.
