According to her family, there is no foul play regarding Mia Kühn’s death. According to Briefly News, the family believes Kühn died from a fall. Authorities located the grade 10 pupil’s body on the school’s rugby field on Tuesday, 4 July.

According to DispatchLIVE, the police reviewed the CCTV footage at the high school. They speculated that Mia Kühn’s death was “unnatural.” However, the family maintains that there was no foul play regarding her death. Last week, the police announced that an autopsy would be conducted to determine the cause of her death, as it occurred during the three-week-long winter holidays when Mia was on the school grounds.

Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi told TimesLIVE that the police are still awaiting the written report from a doctor, and they cannot confirm the cause of death.

On Sunday, 9 July, Mia Kühn’s family released a statement asserting that her death was accidental and caused by a fall. According to the family, Mia had climbed up a pole of the floodlights surrounding the rugby field and tragically fell to her death.

Family spokesperson Jacques Broodryk stated that the family struggled to deal with her unexpected death. The family also asked for privacy and would not be making further comments.

As the investigation continues and the autopsy results are pending, the community mourns the loss of Mia Kühn and offers support to her grieving family.\
