Trainee Traffic Officer 2022 Intake (RTMC) -N4 near Emalahleni Closed by Protesters

N4 near Emalahleni Closed by Protesters. According to Moeti Mmusi, the spokesperson for Mpumalanga community safety, a protest on the N4 highway turned violent on Wednesday morning, with demonstrators blocking both sides of the road. The protest began the previous evening and is causing severe disruption before Emalahleni near KG Mall. Some protesters are also reportedly looting trucks as reported by Jacarandafm.

Mmusi states that the protest has become violent, and the road is closed on both sides. Traffic officers are present at both entrances of the road to redirect traffic to alternative routes.

Mmusi is appealing to anyone who plans to use an alternative route to travel towards Emalahleni via the N4 or vice versa.

The reason behind the protest is unknown, and the protest has been ongoing for some time. The protestors are entitled to protest, but the community safety spokesperson is requesting that they allow motorists and other road users to travel without interference.
The police are working hard to normalize the situation as soon as possible because the N4 is an important road that links Gauteng and Mpumalanga, as well as Swaziland and Mozambique.
