The first three phases of the N12 Daveyton interchange construction have been completed, according to the City of Ekurhuleni. The project aims to improve traffic flow and the movement of people and goods in Daveyton and Etwatwa while reducing congestion during peak hours as reported by Benoni City Times.

The project is being carried out in four phases, with the first three completed, including the construction of Heald Street, Maroleng, and Link roads, widening of the N12 auxiliary lanes on the western and eastern sides, construction of the Daveyton interchange off-ramp, and installation of guardrails.

The fourth phase, which includes the reconstruction and widening of a portion of Alliance Road, is underway and expected to be completed by the end of the financial year. The project has cost R92.5m and has created 76 jobs for locals. The City of Ekurhuleni expressed gratitude to motorists and residents for their patience during the construction phase and encouraged the public to observe and respect the road rules.
