Meyiwa Murder Trial Accused to Face Judgment in 2019 Drug-Dealing Case
Facing a separate legal battle, Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya, one of the five accused in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial, is awaiting judgment in a 2019 drug-dealing case. According to Eyewitness News, the prosecution related to the possession of ammunition and drug dealing will reach a verdict today, with Sibiya being the first among the alleged killers of the football star to face judgment.

Although the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial is currently on hold, Sibiya’s legal proceedings continue in connection to the 2019 case that led to his arrest in May 2020. In the drug-dealing case, police discovered live bullets in Sibiya’s home during his arrest, resulting in an additional charge of unlawful possession of ammunition. Notably, Sibiya confessed to his involvement in Meyiwa’s murder just hours after his arrest.
While awaiting judgment in his current legal matters, Sibiya and the other four accused will have to wait until January for the resumption of the Meyiwa murder trial.
