Mrs South Africa Finalist Promotes Sisterhood with Title
Terisa Hsu-Lee’s journey to becoming a Mrs South Africa contestant introduced her to renowned jewellery designer Angela Yeung when she was looking for wedding rings. What brought them closer was their shared commitment to women’s causes. Angela Yeung founded the Impilo Collection Foundation, which upholds humanity’s values.

In 2022, the foundation launched the #EmpowerHER initiative, which addresses a pressing issue in impoverished communities: the lack of properly fitting bras. They discovered that women without access to suitable bras sometimes endure abusive relationships for financial support, making them vulnerable to gender-based violence. The initiative aims to boost these women’s confidence and provide essential support.
Since its inception, Angela Yeung set a challenging target: climbing some of the world’s highest mountains outside South Africa. Her team simultaneously raises an equivalent number of bras for victims of gender-based violence through donations and fundraising projects.
Terisa Hsu-Lee, a Mrs South Africa contestant, joined the initiative this year. Together with Dainfern Gold Estate and Sindy Thomsett from the Home Owners Association, they collected 249 bras through donations.
Terisa embarked on her Mrs South Africa journey with a clear intention to use her platform and personal brand to raise awareness and serve causes close to her heart. She was inspired by the Impilo Collection Foundation’s remarkable work over the years and decided to align herself with the #EmpowerHER initiative to help women in need of bras in South Africa.
To further the cause, they involved residents from Dainfern Golf Estate in the collection efforts, as Angela Yeung was away climbing Mount Manaslu at 8136 meters. They welcomed the community to join their meaningful initiative by emailing [email protected], calling +27 100210441, or sending a direct message on Instagram to @terisahsulee.
