Mooikloof Substation Engulfed in Fire

The Tshwane Metro announced on X that a fire broke out at the Mooikloof substation, resulting in a trip at the Nyala in-feed station.

This has affected Mooikloof and Wapardrand supply areas.

Consequently, electricity supply to the Mooikloof and Wapandrand supply areas was affected, impacting a vast part of Pretoria East, as per Jacaranda FM.

The City stated in the early hours of Thursday morning that an investigative team was assessing the cause and extent of the damage. Once more information is available, a detailed update is expected.

*At time of publication there was no confirmation yet from the City on the course of the fire or the extend of the damage, Estimated time for power recovery has not yet been established.
