Mbuyiseni Gema in court for murder

Mbuyiseni Gema (48), a police sergeant, stood before the Ixopo Magistrates Court on Monday, facing a charge of murder following the tragic killing of his girlfriend, Busisiwe Mathembi Ngcobo, earlier this month in the eHlanzeni area.

Ngcobo’s devastating fate was exacerbated by the fact that she was carrying triplets at the time of the incident. The shocking crime has sent shockwaves through the community and beyond.

According to Natasha Ramkisson-Kara, NPA regional spokesperson, the case has been remanded to August 25, when a formal bail application will be presented. The state has indicated its intent to oppose any bail application made by Gema.

The proceedings highlight the tragic and disturbing nature of the crime, raising questions about the incident’s circumstances. As the case progresses, the court will aim to establish the full details of the event and ensure that justice is served for Ngcobo and her unborn children.
