Dedicated Detective Secures Life Sentence for Murder Conviction

John Thabo Twala (49) received a life sentence for murder in a significant development.

At Tsakane SAPS, Detective Sergeant Godlive Baloyi was congratulated after the sentencing. Twala was convicted for the murder of Nokthula Motloung in December 2022. Twala, Motloung’s boyfriend at the time, fatally stabbed her with a knife at his home while her two children were present.

Detective Baloyi meticulously investigated the case, ensuring justice for the affected families. Ekurhuleni district commissioner, Major General Anna Sithole, commended the detectives for their diligent work, which led to a lengthy jail term.
