Eskom Relaxes Load Shedding to Stage 2 and 3 Over the Weekend
In a welcomed development, Eskom is easing load shedding over the weekend, transitioning to stages 2 and 3, as announced by the power utility on Friday.
Initially planning to implement stages 3, 4, and 5, Eskom spokesperson Daphne Mokwena highlighted a sustained improvement in generation capacity, with unplanned outages reduced to 13,542MW, according to Jacaranda FM.

The revised schedule indicates that load shedding will be reduced to Stage 2 from 10 am on Friday until 4 pm. Subsequently, Stage 3 load shedding will be in effect from 4 pm until 5 am on Sunday, followed by a suspension of load shedding from 5 am to 4 pm. Stage 3 load shedding on Sunday will resume from 4 pm until 5 am on Monday.
Eskom assures the public that updates on the week ahead will be communicated on Sunday afternoon. The power utility also foresees a Sunday without load shedding, providing some respite to consumers.
