Eskom Relaxes Load Shedding Measures
Eskom has eased load shedding, announcing a downgrade to Stages 1 and 2 from Wednesday morning. Jacaranda FM reports this development follows the power utility’s escalation of load shedding to Stage 3 until further notice last Thursday.
In a brief social media statement, Eskom attributed the easing of load shedding to sufficient emergency reserves and a slight increase in available generation capacity, thanks to the return to service of two units.

Load shedding will decrease to Stage 1 from 10 am today until 2 pm. Stage 2 will be implemented until further notice.
The timing is crucial for South Africans. Many anticipate keeping their lights and televisions on for the Afcon semi-final between Bafana Bafana and Nigeria scheduled for 7 pm on Wednesday.
