EWN reports that the government, including ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula in May, had promised an end to load shedding by the close of 2023. However, the country continues to grapple with power supply challenges. Yelland stressed the unpredictability of the situation, noting Eskom’s changing load-shedding announcements and the frequent adjustments in response to unplanned breakdowns.

The energy landscape remains volatile and challenging to forecast accurately.
