WATCH: 12-year anniversary of Alberton Ligstad childcare services
Ligstad Preschool and Aftercare recently commemorated its 12th anniversary since its inception. Situated in Alberton North, this community center offers a range of services including a crèche, aftercare facilities, care for the elderly, and counseling services for the local Alberton community.
Alida Jooste, the social worker and manager of childcare services at Ligstad, expressed immense pride in the center’s work and noted the significant progress made over the 12 years since Ligstad was established.

“Celebrating twelve years is truly remarkable. Despite facing challenges such as Covid and various changes, today we come together in celebration, grateful for the grace that has allowed us to thrive,” Jooste expressed.
The children attending Ligstad’s crèche, preschool, and aftercare programs radiated excitement at the sight of a cake adorned with ‘Ligstad 12’, coming together around the center’s steel bench for a memorable photo session.
