Laudium and Atteridgeville to be affected by 12-hour water interruptions today

Residents in Laudium, Atteridgeville and surrounding areas are advised to take notice of the water interruptions set to affect these areas due to scheduled repair work on Wednesday.

Work will be carried out on the Laudium and Atteridgeville Reservoirs’ supply zone after leaks were discovered along the Rand Water H14 and Laudium Reservoir outlet.

The repairs will require a 12-hour water supply interruption, from 08:00 until 20:00.

“The leaks occurred after the first phase’s tie-in work which was done on the system last week. The work involved connections to Rand Water’s high-pressure H14 line and Laudium Reservoir outlet valve, as well as the Laudium Reservoir bypass pipeline.

The valve and the bypass pipeline to the existing Laudium Reservoir outlet pipe experienced a significant leak on the existing supply pipe downstream of the tie-in location. The team also observed a minor leak on the Rand Water H14 connection point,” said the metro in a press release.

The second phase will involve repairs to all the identified leaks.
